Restoring our roots written into Slaughtersville Church  Aug 6, 1880, by J.W.Higbee, Minister  .. Madisonville Christian Church

  1. To take the Bible as your only rule of faith and practice, firmly opposing all human authoritative tests of fellowship known as creeds.
  2. To make faith in Christ and obedience to him your only test of Christian fellowship allowing each other perfect freedom in the study and interpretation of the Sacred Scriptures.
  3. To wear no other names other than those the New Testament authorizes Christians as such to wear, knowing that the wearing of human names has been a fruitful source of division among the children of God.
  4. To study the scriptures, forsake not the assembling of yourselves together, live Godly lives, and labor in all of the Lord's appointed ways for the salvation of others.
  5. To contribute cheerfully and liberally to the support of the gospel of our Master, the Lord Jesus Christ, remembering His Words how he said, "It is more blessed to give than to receive."
  6. To continually and earnestly pray those professed followers of Christ who are wearing unscriptural names, walking according to unscriptural rules, and requiring unscriptural tests of fellowship, to put from them such evils and take a stand with you for the restoration of the Apostolic church. (*) Means .. first century Apostles.
  7. To earnestly and solemnly charge those who succeed you, to preserve and defend the truth of the Gospel in the primitive purity and simplicity, praying that walking in the hope and faith of the Gospel you may abound in every good work and be abundantly blessed with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ.
  8. I, therefore, the prisoner of the Lord beseech you that you walk worthy of the vocation where with you are called, with all lowliness and meekness, with long suffering, forbearing one another in love, endeavoring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. Eph.4:1,3

And now may the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God and the communion of the Holy Spirit be with you all. Amen 2 Cor, 13 , 14
